It’s membership renewal time on October 1st, which means that it’s now also self-audit time.

The process and form have been simplified since last year – we have tested it out, and it takes no longer than 10 minutes to complete – so, with a month to go before the due date of September 7th, you should have ample time to complete and submit it.

Please see the form here

The requirements, of course, remain the same as for anyone newly applying to join the Guild. This is to ensure that standards of professionalism and reputation are maintained.

Please note that examples submitted must be for paid work, and that payment must reflect industry standards. While it is up to you if you wish to work for free or for token amounts, the Guild does not support work that undermines the viability of the industry in an application or audit. Additionally, if work submitted is from a publication that publicly states it does not have budget for contributors, you may be asked to provide proof of payment.

You are required to complete this audit if you:

  • Are a full member
  • Re-joined (unpaused) your membership in 2025 (without submitting a new application form)

You do not need to complete this audit if you:

  • Are an Associate or Honorary Life Member
  • Joined the Guild as a new member after February 2025 (as you’ve already completed an audit on application)

Our reputation as a Guild (in terms of commissions, partnerships and conventions) and its value to us individually depend on us being able to say that all members are accredited and true travel media professionals.

If you are thinking about cancelling or suspending your membership, or thinking of moving to Associate, please let us know at your earliest convenience. Equally, if there have been reasons for a diminished work output in the past year, please feel free to get in contact so that we can talk through it.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Best wishes,
Sarah
